Author, attorney and legal career counselor Deborah Schneider is a lecturer and consultant who speaks regularly on the subject of how to make smart career choices, and other career issues. She has delivered presentations to national organizations such as the National Association for Law Placement, the International Career Development Conference, the Western Association of Colleges and Employers, AmeriCorps and Idealist, as well as to law schools, colleges, bar associations, and career development organizations around the country.

Schneider has served as Associate Director for Career Development at the University of California Hastings College of the Law and as a career counselor at the University of San Francisco School of Law, and completed intensive career development training with Richard Nelson Bolles, author of What Color is Your Parachute? Before launching her writing and career development work, she worked for myriad public interest legal and political advocacy organizations in Washington, D.C. and New York City, and was a Coro Fellow in the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs. Schneider received her Bachelor of Arts in political science and communications from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and her law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. She lives in San Francisco.

Gary Belsky

Gary Belsky is executive editor at ESPN The Magazine. Previously, he was a writer at Money magazine, covering all aspects of personal finance. Belsky is co-author of Why Smart People Make Big Money Mistakes—And How To Correct Them: Lessons From The New Science of Behavioral Economics (Fireside; 2000). He lectures frequently on this topic and decision-making in general to business and consumer groups. Belsky has been a regular weekly commentator on CNN's Your Money and a frequent contributor to Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, Crossfire and Oprah. He continues to appear on radio and television, commenting on sports, economics, business and personal finance. Belsky graduated from the University of Missouri in his hometown of St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and speech communication. Before joining Money, he was a reporter for Crain's New York Business and the St. Louis Business Journal. In 1990, Belsky won the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism, administered by The Anderson School at UCLA. He lives in New York City.
